Sample Team[]
Team Formation: Azazel on Position 5, Saraqael on Position 6, while Ramiel, Veronica and Angel can be switched between Position 2, 7 and 8.
Synergy Requirements: Ramiel and Veronica need to have their HP below 25% for their Passives' effects. However, Ramiel can stay at FULL HP if she is equipped with her exclusive equipment.
Deck Advantages and Weaknesses[]
Advantages[]
- Good survivability: Azazel grants everyone Nullify Damage (1 hit) and Battle Continuation (BC, 1 time) every wave, and Barrier with Active 2; SS Veronica gets one stack of BC for herself + extra stack if there are another Kouhei units (excluding herself) in the squad + one from Azazel = 3 BC on herself
- Good against 5 or more enemies: Saraqael gets more DR with more enemies and last for the rest of the wave, max at 5 or more enemies; Veronica gets more Attack buffs with more enemies and last for the rest of the wave, max at 7 or more enemies
- High SPD and AP: Saraqael grants every affected unit SPD whenever an enemy is killed, grants herself AP whenever she is hit; Veronica grants affected units AP whenever she lands a success hit on enemy
- High damage: Everyone except Ramiel is able to stack Damage Taken Increased, further increasing damage to enemies as the wave lasts
- High hit counts: Every Kouhei unit (except Veronica herself) can trigger Veronica Follow Up Attack, good against enemies that need high hit counts to deal with, such as Executioner
- Counterattack: Good against enemies that need Counterattack to deal with, such as Lightning Bomber Type-S (red bats)
- Both physical and elemental damage are present: Veronica for physical damage, Saraqael for electric damage, and Ramiel for fire damage
- Marked: Saraqael gains Marked when against 5 or more enemies, reducing the risk of the others getting hit by Ignore Protect attack
- Able to Remove certain buffs: Veronica can Remove DR buffs on enemies affected by Marked / Damage Taken Increased; Angel can Remove Counterattack buffs
Weaknesses[]
- Highly rely on DR and Barrier: Continuous or single high damage (if Nullify Damage was consumed) Ignore Barrier / DR attacks can destroy them (can be somewhat negated with substitute unit)
- No Remove debuff: No Kouhei unit with Remove debuff skill (can be negated with substitute unit or equipment)
- Bad against any type of DoT Damage and Fixed DMG: As Veronica and Ramiel (without her exclusive equipment) are required to be low HP for their Passives to work, any type of DoT Damage and Fixed DMG can easily kill them (if the DoT Damage is a debuff, it can be negated as aforementioned)
- No Remove all buffs on enemies: No Kouhei unit with skill to Remove all buffs on enemies (can be negated with substitute unit)
- Bad against enemies with Remove Damage Taken Increased / all debuffs, or Status Resist: Unable to stack Damage Taken Increased, which decreases the overall damage output ( Status Resist can be somewhat negated with substitute unit)
- Bad against enemies that get stronger when hit: Unable to disable Counterattack, bad against Tracker, Cyclops, etc
- No ice damage dealer: Bad against Dryers, Big Chick Cannon G, etc
- Lack of Ignore Protect attack: Only Ramiel has both her Actives with Ignore Protect, while Veronica only has her Active 2 with Ignore Protect, means Follow-up attack from her will not hit protected enemy, which significantly decrease their damage output
TLDR[]
- Good against: Executioner, Lightning Bomber Type-S (red bats), enemies with low Electric Resist or Fire Resist: Chemical Chick Type-X, Fridgers, etc
- Hard Countered (nemesis, kill fast or get killed fast) By: enemies that can provide Ignore DR/Barrier buff, enemies with Ignore DR/Barrier buff (multiple attacks at once / high damage), enemies with high Status Resist , Dryer Head (can be negated with substitute unit or equipment)
- Weak Countered (pain to deal with or get wrecked if not paying attention) By: Cyclops, Chaser (Hard countered if it is protected or with its allies providing Ignore Barrier / DR buff), Predator, Chick Commander (If the player has little to none knowledge of mechanics), Big Chick Cannon G (can be negated with substitute unit), Destroyers, Aqua Chick G (Hard countered if multiple Destroyers with Aqua Chick G combo)
How The Deck Works[]
(Before you read the rest of these, please check out Effect List and Damage Formula to understand what the buffs and debuffs do, and how they affect the damage output.)
This deck is built on stacking Damage Taken Increased, it is the main reason for this deck to have a "decent" damage output (so this deck is in a bad position when against Aqua Chick G). 4 core units are needed for this deck to work: Veronica, Saraqael, Azazel and Angel, with Ramiel as finisher unit. Veronica is the main attacker in the deck, she grants Follow-Up to every other Kouhei unit except herself (so no Re-Attack), and Saraqael, Azazel and Angel are able to inflict Damage Taken Increased, it makes her able to make advantage of the debuffs to increase the total damage output.
Damage Taken Increased is stacked through the normal actives used (Veronica, Azazel and Angel => Active 1, Saraqael [if she has Penance buff] => Active 1 and Active 2) and counter attacks. Veronica grants counter attack buff on Saraqael and Azazel, and they are able to inflict Damage Taken Increased debuff whenever they got attacked. With that, the Damage Taken Increased debuffs stack quickly as the wave lasts, it can reach to the point of 100% or more Damage Taken Increased debuffs on enemy, it essentially makes the enemy receives "double damage". When enough Damage Taken Increased debuffs are stacked, finishing the enemies with BIG DAMAGE: Ramiel's Active 1 if equipped with her exclusive equipment, else Active 2, and Veronica's Active 2.
This deck performs best when there are 5 or more enemies, which is a norm in Sanctum. The more enemies present in wave, the stronger DR buff Saraqael will get, and the stronger attack buffs Veronica can get. When getting max strength DR buff, Saraqael will get Marked, and able to protect allies against Ignore Protect attacks.
This deck is able to act fast. Saraqael will get AP whenever she is hit while Marked, grant SPD buff to everyone whenever an enemy's HP reaches 0, while Veronica grants AP to Azazel, Saraqael and Ramiel at start of round and whenever her attacks hit. Veronica has SPD buffs granted to herself at start of wave and when her Battle Continuation triggers (requires SS and her exclusive equipment), both last for the wave.
How To Play[]
The strategy of this deck is stacking Damage Taken Increased debuffs on enemies by using counter attack or (except Ramiel) everyone's Active 1 or Saraqael's Active 2, then finishing them with Veronica's Active 2 and/or either one of Ramiel's Actives. Use Azazel's Active 2 to provide buffs to make Saraqael able to tank more attacks. Making Saraqael able to tank more attacks is crucial, as the strength of her Damage Taken Increased debuff scales with her Penance buff, which is granted whenever she got hit, up to 5 stacks and lasts for the rest of the wave. If her HP drops below 50%, she will be protected by Azazel, it will make her unable to get Penance buff and lead to no Damage Taken Increased debuff from her attacks.
This deck may not work in certain stages of Zone 2 and Zone 3, with high amount of enemies with Ignore Barrier / DR buffs or presence of Dryer head. The deck is also subjected to enemies' debuffs and unable to dispel enemies' buffs. You can choose to switch Ramiel to other unit as countermeasure to the weaknesses, or equip everyone with Vaccine Chip. The following units are my picks with their contributions for the deck:
Armand : Debuffs Removal, Elemental Resists Up, Status Resist Up, Anti-type(s) Damage Up, AP Pump; Buffs Removal, Stacks Damage Taken Increased
Neodym : Elemental Resists Up, DR Up; Mass Buffs Removal, Stacks Damage Taken Increased
Aurora (SS) : Buff Removal Resist Up, Status Resist Up, Ignore Protect Activated; Buffs Removal, Buff Prevention, Stacks Damage Taken Increased
LRL (SS) : Buff Prevention, Stacks Damage Taken Increased, Mass AP-, Buffs (ATK / ACC / Crit Up & Ignore Barrier / DR) Removal
Note: While they are the better picks in my opinion, but you can try out with any unit that you see fit.
You can change the deck formation with substitute unit to this
Recommended Equipment[]
Equipment | For | Remark |
---|---|---|
Angel |
For her Active 1 Range, else you'll have to wait till Round 5 | |
Veronica |
Only for SS Veronica, helps proc her P3 | |
Ramiel |
For her Active 1 Range and allow her to be at full HP to mitigate the issue of enemy's Counterattack, DoT Damage and Fixed DMG Note: This, however, will keep the Fire DoT Damage effect from her passive always active, beware of it | |
Everyone | Unless you want them to get inflicted by debuffs (Talking about you, Speaker and Dryer Head) |
Trivia[]
You can build Saraqael as Attacker in lower difficulty stages, like Zone 1, and first half of Zone 2 and Zone 3, for more damage and faster clear speed.
